All classes are pre-approved for nursing CEU's by the Alabama Board of Nursing, which is ANCC accredited. Most training courses can be arranged at your facitlity upon request. Some restrictions may apply to on-site breath alcohol training.
Occupational Hearing Conservation
For the Audiometric Technician: CAOHC-approved hearing conservation training, taught by our staff audiologist, is regularly scheduled throughout the year. Full and recertification courses are available as well as customized on-site instruction. OSHA-required annual employee training can also be provided. Course Fee: $550 - full course; $350 - re-certification course (includes CAOHC application fee). For the Program Administrator: A one-day hearing conservation course is offered for Safety and Health professionals charged with the day to day responsibility of administering a Hearing Conservation Program. It summarizes testing procedures, hearing protection devices, and current state and federal regulations concerning hearing conservation. For the Professional Supervisor: A one-day course is also offered for the Professional Program Supervisor. OSHA mandates that an audiologist, otolaryngologist or physician must supervise the Hearing Conservation Program. This course is designed to cover advanced hearing conservation concepts for those professionals. For the Employee: Per OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.95 requirement, annual employee education programs can be conducted by our occupational audiologist for your noise-exposed workers. Programs can be customized to your workplace and shifts.

For the Spirometry Technician: A NIOSH-approved spirometry course is offered in accordance with NIOSH Cotton Dust training regulations. We offer both open enrollment and on-site courses. Course Fee: $525 - full course; Refresher course (attendance required) $325. Spirometry Refresher – WEB Based: This NIOSH-approved training satisfies the requirements for maintaining NIOSH certification with the added benefit of completing the course from any computer. It includes easy to understand instruction and exercises for reinforcement. An interactive exam is included with immediate feedback to the student. THESE COURSES ARE DESIGNED ONLY FOR CUSTOMERS NEEDING DOT-APPROVED TRAINING. THE COURSES DO NOT COVER INFORMATION ADEQUATE FOR TRAINING LAW ENFORCEMENT OR DUI DEFENSE. YOU MUST OWN OR BE IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING AN INTOXILYZER TO ATTEND THE COURSE.
For the Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT): A complete 12-hour DOT course with certification on all Intoxilyzer instruments is offered at various times throughout the year or can usually be arranged on-site. Course Fee: Technician $450. For the Breath Alcohol Trainer: A comprehensive 16-hour DOT course with B.A.T. and train-the-trainer certification on all Intoxilyzer instruments is offered in conjunction with B.A.T. courses or can usually be arranged on-site. This is an excellent choice for locations with high technician turn-over or large numbers of staff needing training.
